PTA Report Highlights Top Mobile Networks of Q4 2025 in Pakistan

Pakistan’s leading cellular mobile operators recorded mixed performance trends in the fourth quarter of 2025, according to a new benchmarking report released by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) in partnership with Opensignal. The findings provide a detailed comparison of user experience across networks and cities nationwide.

The report is based on more than 1.25 billion real-world measurements gathered from smartphone users across 161 districts during a 90-day period. Unlike controlled lab tests, the data reflects actual user experiences, offering a practical view of network performance in everyday conditions.

PTA evaluated five core performance indicators to rank mobile operators. These included download speed, upload speed, video experience, games experience, and time on network. Together, these metrics measure both raw performance and overall service reliability.

Download and upload speeds remain key benchmarks for consumers, particularly as demand for high-bandwidth applications continues to grow. Faster download speeds enhance streaming, browsing, and app usage, while stronger upload speeds improve video calls, social media uploads, and cloud-based tasks.

Video experience is another critical indicator, reflecting how smoothly users can stream content without buffering or resolution drops. With the rise of digital entertainment platforms, consistent video performance has become a central factor in customer satisfaction.

The games experience metric evaluates latency, jitter, and responsiveness, which are crucial for online gaming. As mobile gaming adoption expands in Pakistan, network stability and low latency are increasingly important for competitive and casual gamers alike.

Time on network measures service availability and connectivity stability. A higher score indicates fewer disruptions and stronger network consistency, directly impacting user trust and overall quality perception.

The PTA’s collaboration with Opensignal ensures that the benchmarking process remains transparent and data-driven. By analyzing large-scale user-generated measurements, the authority aims to promote competition, encourage network upgrades, and improve service standards across the telecom sector.

The Q4 2025 findings highlight both progress and performance gaps among operators in different regions. As Pakistan moves toward broader digital adoption and prepares for next-generation connectivity, consistent improvements in network speed, reliability, and user experience will remain essential.

This latest PTA report serves as a key reference point for consumers comparing mobile networks and for industry stakeholders focused on strengthening Pakistan’s telecommunications infrastructure.
