The latest Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Quality of Service (QoS) survey has highlighted strong competition between Zong and Jazz across key mobile network performance indicators in Pakistan.
According to the second-quarter 2026 survey, Zong secured the top position in seven measured categories, while Jazz led six indicators, showing a closely contested performance between the two major telecom operators.
The PTA conducted the QoS assessment between April and June 2026 across 11 cities in Pakistan. The survey evaluated mobile operators on several aspects of network quality and customer experience.
The assessment covered 4G coverage, mobile broadband speeds, latency, web browsing performance, voice quality and SMS services.
Zong emerged as the leading operator across seven of the indicators assessed by the telecom regulator. Its performance placed it ahead of competitors in multiple areas included in the nationwide quality evaluation.
Jazz, meanwhile, secured first place in six indicators, demonstrating strong results across several network and service quality measures.
The findings indicate that there was no single operator dominating every aspect of mobile connectivity. Instead, Zong and Jazz each performed strongly in different areas measured during the PTA’s latest survey.
The QoS survey is part of PTA’s efforts to monitor the quality of telecom services available to consumers and assess how operators perform against established service benchmarks.
For mobile users, indicators such as broadband speed and latency can directly affect activities including video streaming, online gaming, social media use, video calls and other internet-based services.
Similarly, voice quality and SMS performance remain important measures for consumers who rely on mobile networks for everyday communication.
The survey’s geographic coverage of 11 cities also provides an indication of network performance across multiple urban locations rather than focusing on a single market.
With Zong leading seven indicators and Jazz topping six, the latest results underline the competitive nature of Pakistan’s mobile telecommunications sector.
The findings may also encourage telecom operators to continue investing in network infrastructure, coverage and service quality as demand for reliable mobile internet and communication services continues to grow.
For consumers comparing mobile networks, the PTA survey provides a useful reference point by showing that network performance can vary depending on the specific service being evaluated and the location where it is used.
