Telecom operators in Pakistan have activated more than 300 5G sites, bringing high-speed connectivity closer to key urban centers, including the Red Zone, Blue Area, and Parliament Lodges in Islamabad, according to officials from the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority.
Jazz has successfully launched 180 5G sites nationwide, while Zong has activated 150 sites, expanding ultra-fast mobile internet services in strategic locations. Ufone is expected to come online shortly after importing the necessary 5G equipment and compatible devices from abroad.
The rollout focuses on critical areas, including central business districts and government hubs, to ensure enhanced connectivity for both commercial and official operations. Telecom operators are required under license terms to update coverage maps on their official websites, allowing users to identify areas where 5G services are now available.
Industry analysts note that this expansion marks a significant step toward nationwide 5G adoption, which is expected to improve data speeds, reduce latency, and enable advanced technologies such as IoT, smart offices, and augmented reality applications across Pakistan.
The accelerated deployment of 5G infrastructure reflects both regulatory support and competitive pressure among telecom operators, highlighting Pakistan’s growing digital landscape and the push toward next-generation mobile services.
