Jazz Achieves Pakistan’s First 1.2 Tbps and 100 Gbps FTTS Deployment

Jazz, Pakistan’s leading connectivity provider under JazzWorld, has reached a major milestone in its network modernization journey. In collaboration with technology partner Huawei, the company has successfully deployed the country’s first 1.2 terabits per second (Tbps) per-wavelength capacity on its optical transport network.

This landmark achievement reflects Jazz’s dedication to building a high-capacity, resilient, and future-ready digital infrastructure. The upgrade is designed to support next-generation services, exponential data growth, and evolving enterprise and consumer needs across Pakistan.

In another industry-first, Jazz implemented Pakistan’s first-ever 100 Gbps deployment on a Fiber-to-the-Site (FTTS) ring. This milestone highlights the company’s leadership in advancing optical access networks, enabling ultra-high-speed connectivity for enterprise services, mobile backhaul, and emerging digital applications.

The 1.2 Tbps per-wavelength upgrade significantly enhances Jazz’s core and aggregation network layers. It ensures seamless scalability for growing data consumption, cloud services, 5G evolution, and hyperscale traffic. Meanwhile, the 100 Gbps FTTS deployment strengthens the performance, capacity, and resilience of the last-mile fiber infrastructure, addressing both enterprise and consumer demands.

Commenting on the achievement, Khalid Shehzad, Chief Technology Officer of JazzWorld, said: “The deployment of Pakistan’s first 1.2 Tbps per wavelength on our optical network, along with the first-ever 100 Gbps on FTTS ring, represents two major technological milestones. These upgrades highlight the strength and scalability of our network architecture, allowing us to efficiently support future technologies and increasing traffic volumes while maintaining high standards of reliability and performance.”

These advancements reinforce Jazz’s long-term commitment to creating a world-class digital infrastructure for Pakistan. By continuously strengthening its network, the company is enabling innovation, accelerating digital inclusion, and supporting the country’s growing connectivity needs.

With these technological milestones, Jazz solidifies its position as a leader in network modernization, adopting cutting-edge optical and transport technologies to drive Pakistan’s digital transformation and meet the rising demand for high-speed, reliable connectivity.
