Kim Kardashian Reveals Her Love-Hate Relationship with ChatGPT

LOS ANGELES: Reality star and entrepreneur Kim Kardashian has opened up about her complex relationship with artificial intelligence — particularly with ChatGPT, the AI chatbot she jokingly calls her “frenemy.”
In a candid new interview, the SKIMS founder admitted that while she regularly uses ChatGPT to help with her law studies, the tool has often led her astray with incorrect answers — even causing her to fail exams.
“I use ChatGPT for legal advice,” Kardashian said with a laugh. “When I need to know the answer to a question, I’ll take a picture and put it in there. They’re always wrong. It has made me fail tests.”
Kardashian, who has been pursuing her law degree for several years through a California apprenticeship program, said the experience can be so frustrating that she sometimes finds herself “yelling” at the chatbot. “It’s like having a friend who’s confident but completely wrong,” she joked.
AI hallucinations and legal risks
Experts note that Kardashian’s frustration highlights a well-known problem in AI called “hallucinations,” where large language models like ChatGPT generate false or misleading information with total confidence.
This flaw has already caused real-world problems — especially in law. In recent years, several attorneys have been fined after submitting legal documents containing fabricated cases created by ChatGPT.
For Kardashian, who has become one of the most visible public figures studying law, the experience serves as both a warning and a learning moment. “You can’t fully trust it,” she admitted. “But it’s still kind of addictive.”
Trying to reason with the machine
Kim also revealed that she occasionally tries to appeal to the chatbot’s emotions — despite knowing it doesn’t actually have any. “I’ll say things like, ‘Hey, you’re going to make me fail. How does that make you feel?’” she said.
According to Kardashian, the chatbot once replied, “This is just teaching you to trust your own instincts.” She laughed, saying, “Like, seriously? Now it’s trying to be my therapist!”
‘Can you believe this?’
Kardashian confessed that she often shares screenshots of her interactions with ChatGPT in her group chat, finding humor in its overly confident tone. “Can you believe this b— is talking to me like this?” she said, referring to the chatbot’s assertive responses.
Despite her struggles, Kardashian admitted she remains fascinated by AI technology and believes it can be a powerful tool if used responsibly. “It’s not perfect,” she said. “But it’s teaching me patience — and maybe a little humility.”
Her comments reflect a broader public debate over the growing role of AI in education, law, and daily life — particularly as celebrities, students, and professionals increasingly turn to tools like ChatGPT for advice and creativity.
