Jobs are back on Facebook — Here’s how you can apply right now

After nearly five years, Facebook is once again entering the job market. Parent company Meta has reintroduced the job listings feature, allowing users and small businesses to post and apply for local employment opportunities directly within the platform.
Meta confirmed that job postings are now available through the Marketplace section, with plans to feature them across community groups and business pages. The feature focuses on local, service-based, and trade roles, making it easier for small businesses to find workers and for job seekers to discover nearby openings.
The updated tool acts as a digital “Help Wanted” sign, letting employers reach potential candidates quickly and efficiently. Early listings in several U.S. cities — including Seattle and Austin — already show restaurants, retail stores, and local service providers using the platform for casual and part-time hiring.
How the new Facebook Jobs feature works
According to Meta, the new feature is available to users aged 18 and older and can be accessed via the Marketplace tab or through business pages. Employers can post openings with job descriptions, pay details, and contact options, while job seekers can apply directly through Messenger or follow up via email.
All job listings must comply with Meta’s Community Standards, meaning posts involving adult services, drugs, or childcare roles will not be permitted. In addition, Meta has introduced strict anti-discrimination policies to prevent biased job targeting — a concern that had led to regulatory scrutiny in the past.
Why Facebook is reviving job listings
Meta originally launched Facebook Jobs in 2017, expanding it across more than 40 countries before gradually scaling it back and discontinuing the feature in 2023. However, the company noticed that many small businesses continued using Marketplace and Groups informally to recruit employees, highlighting the persistent demand for local hiring options.
By bringing back this feature, Meta aims to strengthen Facebook’s role as a community-driven platform. The company says the goal is to make Facebook a reliable hub for entry-level, service, and trade employment, helping users find opportunities in their own neighborhoods.
Available now — with plans for future expansion
For now, the job listings feature is available only in the United States, but Meta has hinted at possible international expansion depending on adoption rates and regulatory approvals.
Facebook’s reintroduction of jobs comes as part of a broader effort to rebuild the platform’s practical value — moving beyond social interaction to real-world utility. With this step, Meta positions Facebook as a potential alternative to LinkedIn, Indeed, and other job search platforms, particularly for small business hiring.
