Microsoft has confirmed that it will raise the prices of Xbox consoles in the United States starting October 3, 2025. The adjustment impacts every model in the Xbox Series X and Series S lineup, marking the second major price increase this year.
According to the company, the decision stems from changes in the “macroeconomic environment,” which analysts widely link to the tariffs introduced by the Trump administration. While not all models will see equal increases, every console in the Xbox family will be affected.

- Xbox Series X 2TB Galaxy Black Special Edition – $799.99 (up $200 from last year’s launch price)
This increase highlights the rising costs across the gaming industry. Earlier in 2025, Sony adjusted the retail price of the PlayStation 5, while Nintendo raised the price of its Switch console. Microsoft itself raised Xbox prices globally in May, making this the second hike in just a few months.
