Pakistan’s Moon Mission Captures First Image from Lunar Orbit!

Pakistan is celebrating a major milestone in space exploration! Their lunar satellite, iCube Qamar, has beamed back its first image from lunar orbit.
This tiny satellite, built by Pakistani scientists and engineers, hitched a ride on China’s Chang’e-6 mission, which launched on May 3rd. After successfully orbiting the moon three times, iCube Qamar captured this incredible image from just 200 kilometers above the lunar surface.
iCube Qamar is a CubeSat, a special type of miniaturized satellite. These CubeSats are like tiny building blocks, allowing for easy assembly and deployment in space. They typically weigh just a few kilograms and can be used for various scientific missions. In this case, iCube Qamar will be snapping pictures of the moon to help us learn more about our closest celestial neighbor.
This mission is a big win for Pakistan’s space program. It demonstrates their growing capabilities in space technology and paves the way for future lunar exploration.
